ANALYSIS OF PASSENGER CHARACTERISTIC ON MRT JAKARTA

Abstract

MRT Jakarta is one of the public transportations used by the public in traveling. MRT Jakarta has 13 stations that connect the HI Roundabout Station to Lebak Bulus Station. This research was conducted to determine the characteristics of MRT Jakarta passengers. The method used to determine the characteristics of passengers is by distributing questionnaires to MRT Jakarta passengers. Based on the results of the questionnaires distributed, the results obtained were that 55.4% of the respondents were men and 44.6% were women with the highest age of the respondents being <25 years old at 56.9% with the last degree of education being 55.4% and the respondent^s monthly income the highest is Rp. 1-5 million per month and Rp. 5-10 million per month, which is 35.4%. With the purpose of traveling, namely to work, 61.5% of the reasons for using the MRT are to avoid congestion by 33.1% with the intensity of using the Jakarta MRT as an alternative to traveling 3-5 times a week by 45.4% with the respondent^s monthly expenditure of Rp. . 2-5 million a month at 50.8%. It was found that the majority of MRT Jakarta passengers aim to work and have an income of Rp. 1-10 million per month with the excuse of using MRT Jakarta to avoid traffic jams.
