Abstract
One measure of the equality in education is that every region has the equal capabilities, as expected in the Indonesian education standards. The academic potential ability of students is one aspect of ability to be measured in measuring the learning and education achievements of Indonesia. Here the academic potential ability of each island in Indonesia is evaluated using the results of the Scholastic Potential Test of 1,000 best schools in 2022. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance and correspondence analysis. The overall result showed that among the islands of Java, Sumatera, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali and Nusa Tenggara, as well as Papua, there were at least two islands that had significantly different quantitative abilities, as well as the ability to understand reading and writing, and general reasoning ability. In contrast, knowledge and general understanding of the six islands did not differ significantly. It was also obtained that Papua with Bali and Nusa Tenggara had a close average quantitative ability while Sulawesi and Sumatera with Papua, Bali and Nusa Tenggara were significantly different. Papua with Sulawesi had a significantly different average ability to understand reading and writing, as well as general reasoning ability.
