Abstract

This research is a conceptual study that fundamentally analyzes the connectivity of undagi^s indigenous knowledge as interior design education curriculum content that accelerates the achievement of the SDGs as a contemporary issue in interior design. Undagi is a Bali and Nusantara (ancient Indonesia) traditional architect who applies sustainability principles with natural and environmentally friendly materials and has excellent potential to be developed in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The method used is a critical approach in the form of a conceptual-fundamental study that inductively analyzes the connectivity of knowledge inseparable from the needs of the interior design curriculum. The data used is knowledge of the undagi tradition from traditional sources (lontar) and the arrangement of international and national interior design curriculum standards. Studies finding show that there are several positive things to be gained when the integration of a culture-based interior design curriculum is integrated with the achievement of the SDGs (1) Designers^ active participation in world issues, (2) Preservation of traditional cultural resources (3) Creation of interior designs with an Indonesian character that have selling points into the international level (4) Increasing the tradition-based creative economy (5) Forming the mindset of future Indonesian interior designers who have cultural sensitivity and love for their cultural resources (6) Interior design forms spaces that influence its inhabitants, so that these ^culture-based designers^ will create a space that communicates the philosophy of tradition that has a message for the harmony of humans, nature, and divinity.
