The cement industry and its current sustainability issue: A systematic review

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to comprehensively examine references to research on the sustainable cement industry from 1996 to 2023. This study will specifically examine the development trend of sustainable cement industry research based on Scopus data. This study employs qualitative research combined with the literature review technique. This study makes use of publication data containing the keywords sustainable cement industry from 1996 to 2023 that were extracted from the Scopus database using the web crawling technique. The findings of this research indicate that the sustainable cement industry^s growth development has accelerated significantly. Moreover, development maps based on co-occurrence and keywords are clustered into six primary groups. One of the issues that is deemed to require attention, particularly in the Indonesian context, is the influence of several marketing factors, such as distributor relationships, price & promotion, and brand equity, in order to comprehend customer satisfaction and the repurchase factors. One of the reasons for this is that academicians and researchers have not conducted extensive research on this topic. On the other hand, marketing-related information is required by stakeholders within the cement industry. In the context of a sustainable cement industry, both internationally and nationally, such as in Indonesia, this topic is still infrequently researched and empirically demonstrated. The research is limited by the purview of the articles used, which were obtained from the Scopus database. In the future, in addition to research with broader literature sources, the recommendations in this study can be used as hypotheses and in-depth, comprehensive follow-up studies. The results of this research are anticipated to serve as a resource for scholars interested in studying the sustainable cement industry.
