Abstract

Community Based Tourism is an approach to sustainable development by involving the community as the main actor through community empowerment in various tourism activities. Community Based Tourism is a tourism model that provides broad opportunities for local communities to control and be involved in tourism management and development. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the concept of Community Based Tourism and the role of stakeholders in the development of sustainable tourism in Batu City. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach in the tourist Lumbung Strawberry. Data collection was carried out using participant observation techniques and Focus Group Discussion. Informants in this study were local communities and stakeholders involved in the development of Lumbung Strawberry tourism in Batu City. The research results contribute to the scientific development of Development Studies with a sustainable development perspective- sustainable community development and community based tourism. This research is relevant to the laboratory research roadmap, namely strategic studies in achieving sustainable development goals and community development and empowerment. The results of the research also provide policy recommendations to local governments regarding sustainable community-based tourism development strategies.
