Abstract

Introduction - Start-up companies, typically led by young entrepreneurs, have certain advantages in terms of their ability to absorb new knowledge and information. These advantages stem from the start-ups^ inclination towards innovation, proactivity, and a forward-looking approach to risk-taking. Consequently, these factors contribute to the overall success and performance of start-up businesses. The understanding of the market, competition, and product by a start-up is a crucial factor in influencing the rate and caliber of innovation. The significance of innovation in facilitating sustainable growth and establishing competitive advantages for firms is pivotal. In order to foster innovation, it is imperative to engage in a systematic process of ideation, information gathering, and external knowledge exploration. Additionally, it is crucial to possess the capability to effectively organize and harness these resources to generate constructive solutions that drive transformative change. Hence, the optimum absorption and utilization of external knowledge by start-ups holds significant importance in fostering innovation.
Research objective - The research objective of this study is to investigate the moderating role of absorptive capacity in enhancing the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and start-up performance.
Methodology - The first step involves the identification and categorization of start-up ventures that have been founded within the preceding five-year period. The objective is to identify start-up companies that fulfill the specified criteria for inclusion in the sample. Subsequently, questionnaires will be administered, and data analysis will be conducted using statistical software tools, such as Amos 22.
Result - The test results indicate that during the first stage of the firm, there is a continued requirement to develop start-up performance. The subsequent section will give the findings pertaining to the theoretical contribution, managerial implications, and recommendations for further research.
