Local Residents Response to Development in Banyuwangi Regency: Understanding the Impact of Sustainable Tourism Development (a, b, c) Faculty of Industrial Technology and System Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology Abstract This study applied the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method to investigate the impact of sustainable practices on sustainable tourism development in Banyuwangi Regency. The first approach involves conducting a survey of local residents responses to tourism-based sustainable development. The second approach involves applying SEM-PLS to quantitatively measure the impact of sustainable tourism development on local residents based on each of the previously identified aspects. This research aims to explore and analyze the important aspects that shape such responses, which include dimensions such as management practices, economic implications, social dynamics, cultural preservation, and environmental considerations. The findings of this study are reinforced by strong empirical evidence, which shows that all of these aspects have significant positive relationships as well as a great impact on local residents in the context of sustainable tourism development. Through in-depth analysis, this paper provides a more comprehensive insight into the interplay between key elements of sustainable practices, focusing on the response of local residents to sustainable tourism development.
