Abstract

Previous studies have examined the relationship between Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment in various contexts. This study aims to explore Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment through meta-analysis to provide an alternative offering better knowledge about the Organizational Commitment literature in organizational development. Based on the findings of previous studies, it can be concluded that some studies confirm a positive relationship between Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment. Still, there is no meta-analysis to show the Effect Size of the totality of Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment. Meta-analysis was done by searching articles from the Scopus and Google Scholar databases- 6 research articles with 20 studies were selected and thoroughly analyzed. The results reveal that Job Satisfaction has a positive and significant relationship to Organizational Commitment, and it can be concluded that the average effect of Job Satisfaction on increasing Organizational Commitment is 0.48 or 48%, which is included in the medium scale. On the other hand, 52% is influenced by other variables. This research provides implications for both managerial and practitioner and recommends the next research topic that can be explored further.
