Abstract

Previous research revealed that transformational leadership contributes to employee readiness to change. Leaders are believed to be agents of change and play an important role in organizational change. Organizational change in this study is emphasized on mental changes, namely employee readiness and openness in accepting change. The purpose of this analysis is to review the existing literature and recommend a future research agenda regarding empirical evidence regarding the relationship between transformational leadership and readiness for change. This literature review uses the publish or perish data search method using the keywords transformational leadership, readiness to change, and organizational change. The results of the analysis show that all dimensions of transformational leadership positively and strongly influence employee perceptions and readiness to change. Finally, although exploratory, this study can provide implications and suggestions for leaders on how to focus and enhance the role of the transformational leadership dimension to grow and increase readiness for change, to support the successful implementation of organizational change.
