The Effect of Changes in Work Mobility on Company Performance: Are Geographically Dispersed Companies More Affected? a) Faculty of Economics and Business, Satya Wacana Christian University Abstract The restrictions on mobility that applied during the Covid-19 pandemic have caused a decline in the Indonesian economy. Many companies, especially those that are geographically dispersed, have had their operations disrupted due to restrictions on work mobility. The aims of this research are to examine the effect of decreased work mobility on company^s performance and whether this impact is felt to be greater in companies that are geographically dispersed. The population in this study consisted of all non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2020. The independent variable of this study was the company^s financial performance which was measured using Return on Assets (ROA) on the company^s financial statements. Changes in work mobility as the dependent variable are taken from the Community Mobility Report. Various kinds of work mobility values in each region, this mobility change is concluded based on the average value of mobility changes in each region. Furthermore, there is a moderating variable which is measured using the standard deviation of the distance between the head office and branch offices. In addition, this study includes liquidity, leverage, and activity as control variables. The research hypothesis was tested using regression with moderating variables. The results showed that the decrease in work mobility had no significant effect on the company^s financial performance. Companies that are more geographically dispersed in their business locations show a declining financial performance during a decline in work mobility.
