HASANUDDIN DAMRAH EDUCATION FIGURE IN SOUTH BENGKULU(1945 - 1968) STATE UNIVERSITY OF JAKARTA Abstract This paper aims to determine the role of Hasanuddin Damrah in the field of education in South Bengkulu in 1945 - 1968. This study uses historical research. The historical method is a process to test and examine the truth of past records and relics by critically analyzing existing evidence and data so that they become reliable historical presentations and stories. Regarding data, it can be a person^s travel log. In historical research there are several stages in writing which consist of topic selection, source collection, verification (external criticism and internal criticism), interpretation (analysis and synthesis). The results of Hasanuddin Damrah^s Research as an Education Motivator in South Bengkulu in 1945-1968 are Hasanuddin Damrah is an idealistic educational figure in his homeland, South Bengkulu. Hasanuddin Damrah was born on September 19, 1917 in South Bengkulu (Manna). His role in establishing schools from junior high school to university level - Hasanuddin Damrah is one of the leading education figures in South Bengkulu who founded the first State Junior High School and the first high school in South Bengkulu. Hasanuddin Damrah is the figure who pioneered the establishment of a university in Manna, namely the Academy of State Administration (A2N) which will later be transferred to Bengkulu - Hasanuddin also established the Faculty of Law under the auspices of UNSEB, Hasanuddin spearheaded the establishment of the first Education and Culture Office in Bengkulu Province. His important role in this research is to know the movement of education and the business activities carried out by Hasanuddin Damrah in the South Bengkulu Regency.
