SOCIAL CHANGES IN TOLAKI COMMUNITY MARRIAGE TRADITIONS 1806-2020 (In Pondidaha District, Konawe Regency) a.c) Lecturer at Halu Oleo University Jalan Kampus Hijau Bumi Tridharma, Sulawesi Tenggara 93232, Indonesia Abstract An abstract This is study aims to determine the causes and effects of changes in the implementation of the Tolaki tribe^s marriage customs in Pondidaha Village, Pondidaha District, Konawe Regency. This study uses a qualitative research method with a historical method approach consisting of: Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography. The results obtained in this study are: 1) The causes of changes in the marriage customs of the Tolaki Tribe in Pondidaha Village, Pondidaha District, Konawe Regency occurred due to several factors including: Technological development factors, religious factors and government factors. 2) The consequences of changes in the implementation of the marriage customs of the Tolaki Tribe in Pondidaha Village, Pondidaha District, Konawe Regency include the following: (a) The implementation of the marriage, before pronouncing the consent of the bridegroom, must say Hamdalah, Istighfar, Shahada and read the holy verses of Al- qur^an. (b) Selection of a mate, children are given the opportunity to choose a man on the basis of love. (c) Equipment, changes to the shape of the Kalo used now, namely the one Kalo with a circle size of 45cm used by the Regent, while the circle size of 40cm is used by the people.
