Abstract

The number of graduates of the Indonesian Literature Study Program is inversely proportional to the number of job opportunities available so that not all graduates can be absorbed. To anticipate this miss function, in 2020, the Ministry of Education and Culture will include entrepreneurship as one of the achievements of graduate learning. Therefore, this study aims to produce a project-based learning model for developing creative Indonesian language products so that graduates have skills in optimizing Indonesian language power in the creative and tourism industry sector. Strengthening the power of the Indonesian language needs to be done so as not to be eroded by the widespread use of foreign languages in product labelling. This study uses research and development methods. This study produces a language creative product development model which consists of three stages: the pre-product development stage, the product development stage, and the product appraisal stage. In the pre-product development stage, analysis of course outcomes, student grouping, reference tracking, and preparation of observation instruments were carried out. At the product development stage, observations, case identification, prototype design, and product creation are carried out by integrating linguistic tools. At the assessment stage, reporting, improvement and efforts to commercialize the product are carried out. The application of this model has resulted in creative Indonesian language products in the form of fashion, communication equipment, accessories, and glassware.
