Abstract

Under the Provincial Regulation Number 13/2019 and the Government Decree Number 523/2019, 338,323 hectares of Sorong Selatan waters have been reserved as a marine protected area (MPA). This MPA focuses on protection, preservation, and utilization of potential marine resources, especially capture fisheries sector with commodities of shrimp, small pelagic fish and demersal. In addition, Seribu Satu Sungai Teoenebikia MPA aims to support sustainable fisheries programs and protect spawning ground, nursery ground for economically important fish and especially for endangered, threatened, protected (ETP) species. However, to complete and strengthen recommendations for the RPZ document preparation, it requires the latest economic condition status. This monitoring attempts to provide an updated benchmark data of economic condition for the effectiveness of further Marine Protected Area (MPA) management. In general, the trend of household assets in electronic and vehicle goods remain stable over the past two years. There is no significant changing in the housing building (roofing material, walls, floors).
