Development of virtual laboratory as a practice supplement for microbiology online learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a virtual laboratory by using Articulate Storyline 3 application as a practice supplement for Microbiology online learning and analyze readability of the developed virtual laboratory. This research is an R and D (Research and Development) research by adopting steps according to ADDIE model. Data were collected by using questionnaires and interviews, then were analyzed by descriptive qualitative and quantitative approach. Developed product was validated by validators of media expert, material expert, and user. Readability test was conducted to 20 students. The results showed that the developed virtual laboratory was considered very feasible by validator of media material expert, media expert and user. Student responses to virtual laboratory showed that the percentage of all students^ assessment scores of virtual laboratory was very good category. It can be concluded that developed virtual laboratory using Articulate Storyline 3 application was considered very feasible to be tested as a practice supplement for Microbiology online learning.
