CLASSIFICATION OF THE CONCEPT OF NUMBER RELATIONSHIPS IN THE QUR^AN

Abstract

Science is one of the necessary for humans because with science humans can develop the potential that exists in themselves. As a Muslim there are demands in seeking knowledge because in Islam it is mandatory to seek knowledge. Science has several branches, one of which is the branch of mathematics. The development of mathematics can not be separated from the holy book Al-Quran which was revealed to His apostles and with the help of Muslim scientists who played a role in developing mathematics such as Al-Khwarizmi or commonly called the father of algebra. This research uses qualitative research methods and types with literature study. The literature used is the result of various writings, theses, articles and verses of the Al-Quran. The data that has been collected by the researchers were analyzed, presented in accordance with the research objectives. The result of this research is the classification of Al-Quran verses which contain the concept of number relation, namely QS. As-Saffat (37) verse 147 contains a number relation greater than or equal to (&#8805-), QS. An-Nisa (4) verses 11 and 12 which contain the number relation more than (>), QS. An-Najm (53) verse 9 which contains the number relation less than (<), QS. Al-Muzzamil (73) verse 20 which contains the relation of numbers less than (<), and QS. Al-Mujladillah (58) verse 7 which contains the relation of numbers less than (<) and more than (>).
