Abstract
Creative ways to increase children^s attention, motivation, involvement and are considered to be able to help the learning process of children in the classroom so that it supports the introduction of mathematical concepts for children aged 5-6 years is an active learning technique. An active learning process cannot be separated from learning media such as the snake and ladder game of mathematical concepts. So this study aims to see the effectiveness of the use of snakes and ladders game in the introduction of mathematical concepts for children aged 5-6 years. This type of research is quantitative research. This research method is an experiment with the form of research used is a pretend experiment (Quasi experimental design). This study uses a nonquivalent control group design experimental design, namely posttest-only control group design (POCGD) for sample collection using purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted at the Misbahul Ummi Early Childhood School with a total of 44 children with a sample of 16 children consisting of 2 classes containing children aged 5-6 years. Where class B1 is the experimental class and class B2 is the control class. The results of the questionnaire on the effectiveness of early childhood on the game of snakes and ladders mathematical concepts (Ultakom) in the experimental class obtained an average value of 78.57. While the control class obtained an average score of 69.19. So that the use of the snake and ladder game in the introduction of mathematical concepts in children aged 5-6 years can be said to be ^Effective^ can be seen from table 3. the effectiveness criteria that the experimental class obtains an average value of >71% with the criteria ^Effective^ and if seen in the table 2. The criteria for the success of children with an average value of >71% in the experimental class are included in the ^Developing According to Expectations^ criteria.
