Abstract
This study aims to reveal the diversity of plants used by the Balinese Ethnic community in the village of Pondok Kelapa Bengkulu which can be developed as a source of learning based on local wisdom in the Higher Plant Taxonomy Course. The research method was in the form of Research and Development of the Borg and Gall Model (1983), which began with the Research and information collecting stage, in the form of literature studies, plant observations and interviews on the use of plants by the Balinese ethnic community in Pondok Kelapa Village, Bengkulu by means of a census. Data analysis was done descriptively. From the results of interviews and identification to obtain scientific names, 2 divisions of plants were found (Pteridophyta, Magnoliophyta), 56 families, 107 species of plants used for food, board, medicine, ornamental, ritual, seasoning, coloring, protection, firewood, fences. , animal feed Taxon A family with many species, respectively Araceae (7 species) Arecaceae (5 species), Euphorbiaceae and Zingiberaceae (4 species). The most widely cultivated plants were Cordylene/andong, (80%) Bougainvillea (68%), Curcuma domestica/turmeric (52%) Cocos/coconut, Musaenda (50%) Manihot/ Cassava (42%). The number of plants found in the yard is related to their frequent use in rituals and food needs. Plants that are dominant in terms of taxonomy and presence in the yard can be developed as learning resources in the Plant Taxonomy course.
