STEM Attitudes and Computational Thinking in Vocational School Students Based on Gender

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify differences in STEM attitudes and Computational Thinking of SMK students based on gender. This research is a preliminary study with a quantitative approach. The population in this study was class X students at the Pajangan State Vocational High School, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, which amounted to 161 people with the classification of 121 male students and 40 female students. Data collection technique The data collection technique used in this study was to provide questionnaires to 161 students as respondent. The instruments used are a questionnaire to measure STEM Attitudes and a Computational Thinking Scale Questionnaire. Data were analyzed with Multivariate Statistics using SPSS Version 20 application software. The findings of this study were : (1) there is no difference in CT attitudes between male and female students at the Panjangan Vocational High School, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta- (2) there are differences in STEM attitudes between male and female students at the Panjangan Vocational High School, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, where female students have better STEM attitudes than male students
