Abstract

This study intends to know the effect of Concept Attainment Model towards the students in the mathematical generalization ability and the Van Hiele^s geometry thinking ability. This study uses quasi experimental method. The population includes all student of SMP Negeri 16 Bengkulu, in the academic year 2020/2021. The sample consists of two classes selected using purposive sampling techniques. Mathematical generalization ability and Van Hiele^s geometry thinking ability is measured by a test that has been valid and reliable. Furthermore, the data obtained is analyzed using MANCOVA test with 5% significant level (&#945- = 0,05). The result of the hypothesis test indicates that there is a positive effect of Concept Attainment Model into mathematical generalization ability and Van Hiele^s geometry thinking ability.

Keywords: concept attainment, mathematical generalization, Van Hiele^s geometry thinking
