Design of basic physics practicum module using Augmented Reality (a) Universitas Terbuka Abstract The basic physics practicum module was developed to help students complete basic physics practicum courses well. Based on the results of previous research, there are several weaknesses in the practicum module, especially if it is used during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to develop a basic physics practicum module design assisted by augmented reality to make it easier to carry out experimental procedures. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The analysis is carried out on the modules that have been used to find out the design, advantages, disadvantages and innovation that can enrich the design of the practicum module. Based on the results of the qualitative analysis, it is known that there are several weaknesses in the practicum module. This result is also relevant to the previous research using a questionnaire involving students from various universities. Previous research stated that the experimental procedure was written in the form of a text narrative, thus causing difficulties in following the experimental procedure. The results of the module analysis show that the module is designed by presenting a very comprehensive description of the material. The presentation of this material can help students understand the concept and help analyze experimental data. The weakness of the practicum module is lack of image and video representation that is integrated in the module. The experimental procedure is presented in the form of a text narrative. The experimental video is provided in the form of a CD so it is less efficient. Technological innovation is needed that helps visualize practical video tutorials. The design of the practicum module innovation developed based on the results of the analysis by using augmented reality in the presentation of the experimental procedure. Thus, it can be concluded that the practicum module assisted by augmented reality can be a solution for practical activities Keywords: practicum module, augmented reality, basic physics Topic: Physics Education |
