The Effect of Learning Motivation on Students Mathematical Communication Ability Universitas Bengkulu Abstract This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of student learning motivation on students^ mathematical communication skills at SMPN 16 Bengkulu City. This type of research is an ex-post facto research conducted at SMPN 16 Bengkulu City in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year with the research population being all students of class VIII totaling 224 students and the research sample totaling 64 students consisting of 2 classes, namely class VIII .A and class VIII.C . The results showed that there was an influence of students^ learning motivation on students^ mathematical communication skills. Learning motivation had a direct effect on mathematical communication skills, indicated by the path coefficient of 〖-〖-ρ-yx〗-_ X_ =0,338 with a value of [t_count=2.758] > [t_table=1.998] at α- significant level. =0.05. The contribution of the influence is 11.42%. This shows that the higher the learning motivation of students, the higher the mathematical communication skills of students.
