Abstract

This research aimed to describe the distribution of cognitive levels on competency tests in mathematics textbook published by erlangga grade VIII on first semester chapter of relation and function and also systems of linear equations in two variables based on revised bloom taxonomy. This type of research was descriptive research that analyze to describe Taxonomy Bloom levels on cognitive process dimension. Competency tests chapter of relation and function had 33 questions and competency tests chapter systems of linear equations in two variables had 30 questions. The competency tests chapter of relation and fuction had cognitive levels of understanding (C2) as many as 12 questions (36,36%), applying (C3) as many as 15 questions (45,46%), and analyzing (C4) as many as 6 questions (18,18%), and there was no cognitive levels of remembering (C1), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6). While the the competency tests chapter system of linear equations in two variables had cognitive levels of understanding (C2) as many as 1 question (3,33%), applying (C3) as many as 22 questions (73,33%), analyzing (C4) as many as 5 questions (16,67%), and evaluating (C5) as many as 2 questions (6,67%), and there was no cognitive levels of remembering (C1) and creating (C6).
