Abstract

One of the leading sectors of national development that quickly generates foreign exchange, reduces unemployment and at the same time preserves culture and the environment is the tourism sector. However, the Covid-19 pandemic that has occurred for almost two years can be said to have killed this sector almost all over the world, and Kendari City is no exception. The momentum of the Covid-19 pandemic needs to be seen as a baseline to rebuild the tourism sector which has slumped. The development of the sustainable tourism sector which has not been maximally carried out before the pandemic needs to be given further attention. The direction of Kendari City^s local wisdom approach is still not clear yet, making Kendari City not yet an attractive tourist destination. This paper aims to analyze the local wisdom approach which is considered more appropriate in the development of the sustainable tourism sector in Kendari City, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is a literature study from various existing references. The results of the study provide recommendations regarding the values of local wisdom that can be implemented both physically and non-physically in the development of the tourism sector in Kendari City, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions on small-scale social activities to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
