Efforts to Revive Padung-padung as The Cultural Identity of Karo^s Women in The Current Context Doctoral Program in Visual Art and Design, Institut Teknologi Bandung Abstract Padung-padung is a large, double spiral-shaped jewelry worn by Karo women in the 19th to 20th centuries. This jewelry is worn by Karo women of certain groups as a social status symbol. Currently padung-padung is no longer worn and its existence as part of the cultural history of the Karo tribe is not widely known to the public. Efforts to preserve this cultural artifact need to be done so that its existence does not disappear further. This study aims to describe the various efforts that have been made to revive padung-padung in the present so that its existence as the cultural identity of Karo women in the past can be recognized by the younger generation. The methods used in this study are literature studies and secondary data collection which is then delivered descriptively analytically. Based on the results of the study, it can be known that several efforts in lifting the existence of padung-padung have been done in the creative industry, namely by applying the concept of design and development of padung-padung shapes in the form of two dimensions and three dimensions. Efforts to preserve the culture of the region without eliminating the essence of meaning contained in the culture need to continue to be done to strengthen the nation^s cultural identity.
