Abstract

The purpose of this study aim to strengthen the insight of nationalism and love for the homeland in new students in countering radicalism. This research method is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The results of this study indicate that the national education model implemented in the Campus Life Program for New Students (PKKMB) is not designed with a pattern of indoctrination and upgrading but is dialogical, creative and innovative which is relevant to the character of today^s millennial generation. This National Education Policy Model is implemented for one day with a duration of 430 minutes. The implementation of its activities is classified into two areas- namely the Scientific Domain (mind) through critical-reflective scientific studies and the Non-Scientific domain (attitude) which contains elements of creativity, games and art. The conclusion of this study is that the national education model implemented in five universities throughout Lombok is part of the soft power approach in order to foster a sense of nationalism and love for the homeland among new students to counteract radicalism which is currently still a contemporary national problem. The national education policy model was prepared in order to support government policies through the National Action Plan for Combating Extremism (RAN-PE) in the effort to combat terrorism.
