Supply Chain Management and Institutions of Vannamei Shrimp Business in Aceh Tamiang Regency Research Center for Marine and Fisheries Socio Economics Abstract Vannamei shrimp will be one of the leading export commodities of Indonesian aquaculture products until 2024. One of the vaname shrimp producers in Indonesia is Aceh Tamiang Regency. The problems that occur in vaname shrimp farming are mostly related to technical, economic, social, institutional, and regulatory aspects. Therefore, supply chain management and business institutions for vaname shrimp are needed. This study aims to map the vaname shrimp supply chain and the institutions that play a role in the vannamei shrimp business activities, and to analyze supply chain management and vannamei shrimp business institutions in Aceh Tamiang Regency. This research was conducted in July-September 2020 in Banda Mulia, Bendahara, Manyak Payed, and Seruway Districts, Aceh Tamiang District. Data was collected using a structured interview method with 160 respondents and in-depth interviews with key informants. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the vaname shrimp supply chain in Aceh Tamiang Regency consisted of providers of production inputs, cultivators, small traders, large collectors, and exporters. The availability of input production, capital, processing, and marketing institutions in the shrimp supply chain are outside Aceh Tamiang Regency. Cultivating corporations are a solution to overcome the problems of vaname shrimp agribusiness in Aceh Tamiang Regency, so it needs to get support from all stakeholders involved.
