Abstract
The government of Provinsi Jawa Barat, Indonesia, has made a blueprint for disaster risk reduction (DRR)- starting from disaster risk assessment, pre-disaster preparation steps, to emergency first aids, called JRCP. However, the blueprint was not yet known by the public. The scouting movement in Indonesia known as Pramuka has good potential to be prepared as DRR volunteers because it has many young, physically strong members who are ready to accept technology. Therefore, it is necessary to empower disaster mitigation for high school scoutmasters. Scoutmasters from Provinsi Jawa Barat were given workshops for risk management and emergency bag preparation. The. The t-paired test used on the pre-test and post-test scores shows that the scoutmasters who have participated have shown an increase in knowledge and skills related to disaster prepar-edness. Hence, it shows the potential use of scoutmasters to become part of natural disaster preparedness.
