MINDFUL AT WORK AS A WORKING MOTHER

Abstract

The involvement of women in various professional work indicated encouragement to contribute on accelerating the globalization era. Some of them are working in educational institutions such as islamic universities. Islamic universities have a role to play in encouraging public awareness in the development of knowledge and awareness of religious.The high potential of conflict in balancing the role between worker an as a mother has an impact to working performance or parent-child interaction at home and also the difficulty of enjoying work and managing psychological awareness. The enjoyment and awareness while working or doing activity referred to as mindfulness at work.
The aims of this study is to reveal the state of mindfulness while working for women who already have children at Islamic colleges in Bandung. By using the snowball sampling technique to capture respondents from 34 Islamic colleges in Bandung, 73 women working in this Islamic university have filled out the Mindfull Attention Awareness Sacle (MAAS) from Brown & Ryan (2003). The results show that women who work in islamic college and already have children have a high state of mindfulness, both lecture and administration staff.
