Building Inclusive Entrepreneurial Culture for Children at School

Abstract

Entrepreneurial culture is built by instilling values to generate new ideas based on knowledge that can provide added value. Because it influences competitiveness of a person or group of people, entrepreneurial culture needs to be established from an early age through education. This paper aims to describe the communication goes between teachers and students in learning entrepreneurship at schools. To support this research, a study case is conducted at Preneur Islamic Boarding School. This paper uses an ethnographic approach by tracking the interactions between teachers and students in entrepreneurship learning in schools to map the communication patterns. Teachers play an active role in guiding and assisting students in classroom activities and entrepreneurial practice. The entrepreneurial culture that is built includes independence, responsibility, encouraging creativity and encouraging curiosity. This paper is expected to be able to contribute to building an entrepreneurial culture in children^s education through effective communication between teachers and students. Communication is believed to be a channel for building mutual understanding between actors in building an entrepreneurial culture in schools.
