Abstract
The millennial generation is symbolized as a busy generation, yet still aware of the importance of the best care and education for their children. Daycare is a solution for millennial generation parents to form a positive character for children. Are the daycare and parenting styles compatible in stimulating the positive character of children?. The purpose of this study was to get a picture of how parents interact with children and map work programs of daycare activities.
The method is descriptive quantitative. Data was collected through an open questionnaire referring to the Baumrind parenting style and the Ministry of Education and Culture^s technical guidelines for daycare.
The result is millennial generation parents educate their children with democratic parenting. Most daycare programs have work programs that refer to the Technical Guidelines but it is necessary to increase the understanding in optimizing children^s development and habituation to achieve positive character.
