The policy of granting visa-free visits under Presidential Regulation No. 21 of 2016 on Visa-Free causes the opportunity of abuse, especially since the granting of this Residence Permit will provide visa-free facilities granted to 15 (fifteen) countries without charge and given 1 (one) month or 30 days to be able to visit Indonesia with tourist destinations, potentially an abuse of immigration by foreigners and a lot of illegal Labor.
The problem in this study is how is the implications of the visa-free policy at the United States no. 21 of 2016 on the inflow of indonesian foreign labor? How is the immigration oversight of foreigners entering Indonesia and the measures taken by the government to protect local workers from the invasion of foreign workers, especially those without expertise?
The research aims to clarify the implications of visa-free policies on the entry of illegal foreign workers and interpret the supervision carried out by immigration authorities on foreigners entering Indonesia and outline the steps taken by the government to protect local workers. The research method used to examine the issue of visa-free policy and its implications for the entry of foreign workers in Indonesia is normative juridical research, i.e. research conducted based on law in books or law is conceptualized as a rule or norm that is a benchmark of human behavior that is considered appropriate.
The results showed that the implication of a visa-free policy is that many foreign workers work illegally due to the misuse of visit visas or visas with purposes other than work visas. This is compounded by the visa-free policy for 169 countries in the world. In addition, the lack of system and coordination is also a factor in the obstruction in terms of internal
