The Role of Teacher Communication To Improving Digital Literacy in Elementary School Students

Abstract

The student of elementary ability to using the gadget is often not accompanied by adequate knowledge about the pros and cons of content in the media. Digital literacy is needed instilling from an early age, even as a digital native generation, they still need to directing and guiding. Using a qualitative method, a case study approach about the communication role of SDN Nagrog teachers, the research conducted studies on the digital literacy of teachers and students, to find out how the teacher communicates in providing direction and how to use digital media for children. Based on research result, that most teachers understand enough about how the importance of digital literacy, but have not provided guidance and direction yet in accessing digital media for students. The conclusion that digital literacy assistance programs for teachers and students are the key to increasing knowledge and offer an understanding of digital literacy in student.
