DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONALISM TEACHERS MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH IN EFFORTS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION LEARNING THROUGH ASSET BASED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Universitas Islam Bandung Abstract Madrasah communities are interesting to be empowered, because madrasas are the oldest education system in Indonesia. It is a unique socio-cultural phenomenon and its existence has been tested by history and continues today. In addition, madrasas are an educational system that has historical roots in the nation^s traditions and culture. The problem they face is the low level of knowledge and skills about cutting-edge learning methods that are creative, active, effective and fun, but they have a strong desire to improve the quality of themselves and the quality of learning in a better direction, so that they are able to produce a smart nation. Intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually as expected.. Therefore, the issue raised in this empowerment is the increase in the professionalism of madrasa teachers. The focus of empowerment is increasing professional and pedagogical competence with the Asset-based community development (ABCD) approach to empowerment. The ABCD approach is a type of critical approach that falls within the scope of community development based on the strengths and assets owned by the community. An approach that places is a strong emphasis on community independence and the establishment of an order in which citizens are active actors and determinants of development.
