Abstract

Children are particularly vulnerable in receiving the impact of disasters due to lack of information, knowledge and ability to survive and struggling with the disaster that he felt, Therefore, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) training can be started at the early childhood education level. Preliminary studies have shown problems related to not awakening critical consciousness on teachers, including: Lack of teacher knowledge about disaster, Lack of critical awareness of teachers and do not have the ability to develop programs, Lack of teacher skills in making disaster simulation activities, Teachers do not have the ability to compose steps when a disaster occurs, Lack of teacher^s ability to communicate DRR education to parents. To find out the extent of teacher readiness, DRR training activities were carried out for kindergarten teachers located in Lembang District. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of early childhood teachers the level of preparedness in the face of disaster risk within the school or the child^s residence Early Childhood students. The research design used is quantitative research with experimental methods.. The subjects of this study were 17 persons namely kindergarten teacher and school principal. The research steps that have been carried out include: Pre-tests, Provision of DRR Education Training Materials, then Post Test related to DRR training material. The results of the study can be seen that all participants experienced an increase in their knowledge of DRR, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the participants^ knowledge before and after the training.
