The Influence of Family Communication Training and Assistance to Parents of Students at Pesantren Persis No. 90 on Increasing Ability and Understanding Communication in the Family

Abstract

Complete communication is something that must be fostered in the family, so that family members feel bond and need each other. This is important for parents to have. Likewise, regarding communication in conveying messages in the form of feelings, ideas, both verbally and non-verbally, the most important things in life include providing motivation in the family, husband-wife-child relationships.
The research was conducted on training participants and family communication assistance to the parents of students. This research is very important to see how the effect of training and mentoring on increasing understanding of communication in the family. And this will impact on the hope of the young generation of the nation, who will grow and develop so that they can live a better life.
This quantitative research uses the t-test developed by William Sealy Gosset, to see the improvement in the abilities and understanding of the trainees.
The study population was 31 parents of Persis 90 pesantren students.The results of the study illustrated that there was an increase in understanding and insight into family communication and practical benefits about family communication, understanding family relationships, transferring knowledge into good behavior in the family, and understanding indicators of being a geat parent.
