The Effect of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) Therapy Intervention on Elderly with Hypertension inTanjungPakuPublic Health Centre, Solok City in 2019 1Health Polytechnic Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia Abstract Objectives : This research was conducted to determine whether the provision of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technic (SEFT) interventions can reduce the blood pressure of elderly who experience hypertension in the working area of Tanjung Paku public health Center, Solok City. Methods : This research is a quasi experimental one group pretest-posttest design. A sample of 35 elderly people with hypertension who were guided by the integrated service post of the Tanjung Paku Public Health center Work Area in the city of Solok, and each respondent was given 2 cycles of SEFT intervention within 20 minutes. Measurement of respondent^s blood pressure was done twice, namely pre and post intervention. Results : The conclusion of this study is that there was a decrease in the blood pressure of respondents, namely elderly hypertension after being given the Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technic (SEFT), so that nurses have the opportunity to develop promotional and preventive efforts. The policies should be linked to promotional and preventive efforts by integrating SEFT interventions in non-communicable disease prevention programs or integrated non-communicable disease health centers. Conclusions : The average systolic blood pressure before and after SEFT intervention was 155.43 mmHg and 141.14 mmHg. The average diastolic blood pressure before and after SEFT intervention was 86.29 mmHg and 84.00 mmHg. Based on the comparative data analysis of pre and post intervention blood pressure, the statistical test results obtained p = 0,000 (p <α-). There is a significant difference in blood pressure between pre and post SEFT interventions.
