Abstract

Abstract. This research is motivated by the problem of the importance of overcoming the problem of damage to the natural environment namely flash floods caused by human actions and low awareness of students about the environment to maintain the survival of future generations. Building ecological intelligence of students through the history learning process for high school students in Sigi Regency which is extracted from the local wisdom of oral /folklore (motutura traditions) which serve as guidelines, thoughts, awareness practiced by generations of society to preserve nature in the communities in Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, which began to be eroded by the current of globalization, and the value of this oral tradition is starting to be abandoned by todays young generation. Environmental problems become a global issue that is very urgent to study because through academia, namely education as a promotion to respond to problems with forest destruction, flash floods, and depletion of springs.oral tradition cultural motutura studies as one of the solutions from the world of education to ward off global issues related to the problems above. The purpose of this study is to describe the values of ecological local wisdom in oral traditions (motutura) in the Kaili ethnic community in Sigi Regency and their implementation in history learning that will be designed through audio-visual media at SMAN in Sigi, Central Sulawesi. This research is a qualitative research tracing the ecological local values of oral tradition (motutura) using a qualitative design (Creswell 2014) with an ethnographic approach. The results of the study of the ecological cultural value of the oral tradition (motutura) in Tanah Kaili will be developed into a learning media design through audio visual media as a form of cultural inheritance to build ecological intelligence for students in Sigi district, Central Sulawesi.
